Privacy policy

In short

RetroVault is an invite-only retro-gaming collection management app. Your collection data is private by default, never resold, and audience measurement is done without advertising cookies. Hosted in France.

Data we collect

Account: username, password (stored encrypted), and the email address provided when requesting access. This information is only used to create and secure your account.

Collection: the games, consoles and accessories you add, along with your notes, prices and preferences. This data is private and visible only to you, unless you choose to enable your public profile (which only exposes a chosen subset, without your purchase prices or personal data).

Connecting third-party services (optional): if you link your Steam account, RetroVault reads your library to display it. You can unlink it at any time.

Audience measurement

We use Matomo, a self-hosted analytics solution: data stays on our servers and is never shared with third parties. It's configured without tracking cookies and with IP anonymization — which is why no consent banner is required. It's only used to understand site usage (page views, referrers) in aggregate.

Cookies

RetroVault only sets a session cookie needed for authentication (keeping you signed in). No advertising or profiling cookies are used.

Hosting

The site and database are hosted in France (o2switch). No data is transferred outside the European Union.

Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data. Most of this can be done directly from your account. Deleting your account erases your associated data (collection, profile, history).

To exercise these rights or for any question, contact the site administrator at: contact@retrovault.fr.
